“My fight is to ensure people get what they are entitled to. I do not want anything from any Government,”
“Anybody, anywhere, of any political party, race, colour or creed, no matter who you are you can come to this office. I would try to help the best I can, having regard to the position I am in.”
“My political work continues just not in the corridors of Parliament but outside,”
Basdeo Panday.
Could someone tell this fella that no longer would this type of cheap politics guide the way a more involved and educated electorate elect their leaders.
What is the point of all this “struggle in the trenches” do if once you are elected to political office, you forget all this and continue with the neglect?
Many are out here championing the cause of the less fortunate, some of whom are elected, as Panday was, into political office. Once elected into government you are equipped with the best means of improving the lives of all those you sought to represent outside of the corridors of power.
