Dear Madam Prime Minister,
After one year in government, your administration has been faced with too many issues, the type of issues that the people voted against, the type of issues that plagued the former regime and caused the population to send a clear message via the vote that they are no longer willing to accept. They sent a clear message that they were not willing to accept the arrogance of the last administration in government.
The past year has been a learning exercise for what is called a coalition government, but after one year, it seems that the partnership has not been able to settle down to governing. Within this one year, we have had the SIA/Reshi, Mary King, Gopaul/NP and Nizam fiascos.
The one thing that I consider a plus regarding these issues, is that the government acted positively once concerns were raised. However, and this is where the reason for this open letter, there is the Jack Warner/FIFA issue. This country has gone through enough; the people of this country have been put through enough, and they voted so that things change as promised.
I must state clearly here that this is not about guilt or innocence; rather it’s about morality, ethics, not legality. Considering what has transpired at FIFA regarding allegations of bribery, I think Warner should be asked to step down as Minister of Works and Transport; he may be able to remain an MP as there have not been any charges against him at this time. To do this would demonstrate in no uncertain terms that the people made the correct decision when they voted for the PP, effectively voting against corruption, nepotism, cronyism, arrogance and outright disregard for what the people were demanding.
To do this would give some relief to the people; it would give the government the opportunity to carry on with the governance of the country rather than to have to wake up every Monday morning to such issues, which, if dealt with in the same manner as others have been, would allow for us to develop.
We have had enough, really, we have. We cannot take it anymore, please Madam Prime Minister, demonstrate the promised change, shut up the idiots like Panday, who use these things to revive their rotting political existence, no man should be irreplaceable, not even Warner.
Remove every possible barrier that may prevent any future election wins.
