New Politics, Repressed?

I wonder if any media house followed up on the "leaking" of misinformation about Mr. Ramadhar being fired from the Cabinet. Was this act designed to cause him to enter this meeting repressed? Who would have sent such a message to where it would then be distributed?

First, news came of someone to be fired, a post on CNC3's Facebook page stated "Buzz of activity at Diplomatic center. Unofficial word is that Prakash Ramadhar's appointment as Minister of Legal affairs has been revoked",
The Express also issued a breaking news bulletin "BREAKING NEWS - Ramadhar fired. Prakash Ramadhar has been fired as the Minister of Legal Affairs. His appointment was revoked this afternoon by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar after a hastily arranged emergency Cabinet meeting at the Diplomatic Centre in Port of Spain." [the link to this story has since been changed/updated to BREAKING NEWS UPDATE - Ramadhar stays]

Persons in the media were updating their Facebook statuses with the "news". Within minuites, Facebook exploded, everyone were speculating, offering their own views, commenting on the future of the Partnership and pronouncing on Mr. Ramadhar's handling of this entire issue with the San Fernando Mayorship.
The Prime Miniter, who must have gotten word of what was going on outside of the meeting, thought that she should address the nation.  During the break she informed the public that no one was or would be fired. Now, you must understand that this was simply to deal with rumours of someone being fired. There is still the issue of how it started.

I would definitely like to know where all this originated and what was behind it. But I am not holding on to any hope that the media would follow-up on this. We have simply moved on and placed this along with the several other issues that have been allowed to fall by the way side so that the next big item on the misinformation arsenal can be taken up.

We can't get anyhere if the media continues like this, it is one thing for the social netsworks to run with stories like this, but it's another when the media, the guardians of democracy, can be so reckless as they report on issues and allow itself to be used in such a manner.

I wonder if anyone will send out pre-action protocol letters to the media houses involved? Because if this is done, they would have to reveal their sources, not so? I would love to know where this originated from. Won't you?
